"I wish someone had asked when I was 28 and with my college sweetheart husband. It took me forever to get out of that abusive relationship. Your comment about the ambivalence--the love had not ended but the relationship had due to abuse--was comforting to me. Domestic Violence crosses all barriers...it even includes doctors.
